Getzner takes majority in Membryx
Getzner Textil has increased its stake in Membryx GmbH to 70.5 percent and now holds the majority in the specialist for textile protective layers and functional sheet materials. The former Phantomleaf Textiles GmbH now operates under the name Membryx GmbH and is majority-owned by the Getzner Textil Group.
Membryx develops and produces textile protective layers and functional sheet materials for emergency services such as police, military and rescue organisations, as well as for industrial applications. Multi-layer composites and membranes combine several protective properties in a single layer while also providing a high level of wearer comfort. According to the company, its solutions are designed to combine protection, comfort, durability and sustainability.
Ownership structure and strategic rationale
Getzner Textil had held a stake of just under 30 percent in the company since July 2025 and has now raised its shareholding to 70.5 percent. The remaining 29.5 percent continue to be held by the previous owners, Annette and Rick van Es, who will remain managing directors.
“With the majority stake in MEMBRYX, we are strengthening our expertise in highly functional protective textiles and expanding our portfolio to include innovative membrane and textile technologies. MEMBRYX’s solutions combine protection, comfort, durability and sustainability. Together, we aim to systematically advance these technologies and unlock new market potential,” says Hannes Tschofen, CTO of Getzner Textil.
Annette and Rick van Es say the majority stake will allow them to accelerate the development of their technologies and open up new markets while preserving their entrepreneurial identity.
