19/06/2026 – Lenzing showcases bio-based nonwovens — auf Deutsch lesen
Index 26 Award for Lenzing DualWipe
From Cidpex in China via Techtextil in Frankfurt to Index in Geneva, the Lenzing Group presented ready-for-market, bio-based nonwoven solutions in the first half of 2026. With its regenerated cellulose fibre portfolio and Lenzing Nonwoven Technology (LNT), the company targets scalable alternatives to fossil-based nonwoven materials for hygiene, wipes and technical applications.
Cidpex, Techtextil, Index: different fairs, different focus
Cidpex 2026 in Nanjing, the world's largest exhibition for tissue and disposable hygiene products, formed the starting point. As a key industry platform in Asia, the fair was used to strengthen Lenzing's regional presence and to increase the global visibility of Veocel branded fibres, particularly in absorbent hygiene and wipes applications.
At Techtextil 2026 in Frankfurt and Index 2026 in Geneva, the emphasis shifted towards European and international customers. At both events, Lenzing Nonwoven Technology was shown via interactive touch-and-feel stations. These hands-on set-ups allowed visitors to assess the performance, versatility and material characteristics of Lenzing's cellulosic nonwoven solutions directly on sample products, across hygiene products, wipes and technical nonwovens.
DualWipe: Index 26 Award in the wipes segment
On the Index show floor in Geneva, Lenzing DualWipe received the Index 26 Award in the Nonwovens Roll Goods category. The wipe, enabled by Lenzing Nonwoven Technology, combines two functional surfaces in a single product: an abrasive side for removing dirt and residues, and a soft, highly absorbent side for wiping and finishing.
According to Lenzing, DualWipe contains no synthetic fibres, binders or finishing chemicals. This design avoids the risk of microplastic shedding typically associated with conventional synthetic wipes, while addressing cleaning and polishing steps within one material.
Bio-based platform aligned with EU Bioeconomy Strategy
In her statement at the fair, Patricia Sargeant, Executive Vice President Commercial Nonwovens at Lenzing Group, underlined the role of cellulose-based, fossil-free technologies for the future of the nonwovens industry. She highlighted Lenzing Nonwoven Technology as a scalable alternative to fossil-based materials, combining renewable raw materials with advanced fibre and web technologies to support customers in meeting rising regulatory, brand and consumer expectations.
Lenzing positions its nonwoven solutions in line with the EU Bioeconomy Strategy, which emphasises the use of bio-based materials to reduce dependence on fossil resources and to strengthen sustainable industrial value chains. According to the company, these strategic targets are translated into industrial-scale solutions already available for hygiene, wipes and technical nonwovens applications. Across all three fairs, Lenzing used its stands to demonstrate how its fibres and technologies are applied in diverse end uses, with particular focus on absorbent hygiene products and advanced nonwoven solutions along the global nonwovens value chain.
