The opening took place on the occasion of the “Tag der Innovationen”, an annual specialist conference hosted by TITV Greiz. Every two years, the event is combined with an open day.

With the Start-up Base, TITV Greiz aims to become a point of contact for people interested in founding a business, particularly in the field of high-tech textiles. The institute notes that textile solutions are used across numerous application areas. It also points out that innovative products can be developed and produced economically even in smaller quantities.

Access to infrastructure and laboratories

The new premises are designed as an offer for founders and young companies, who can also benefit from the institute’s know-how and research infrastructure. For practical research and development work, TITV Greiz cites its pilot facilities across the textile processing chain as well as an electronics laboratory, a Smart Textiles Lab and an accredited testing laboratory. As an industry-oriented research institution, TITV Greiz sees itself as a partner for research, development, services, consulting, testing and further training along the textile value chain.
