Highlights on the 64th Dornbirn-GFC in September
At Dornbirn GFC 2025, industry leaders and innovation drivers will present groundbreaking developments in workwear, protective textiles, and defence applications from September 10 to 12, 2025, in Dornbirn, Austria.
The focus of the lecture series will be on sustainable materials and pioneering technologies designed for the most demanding and future-relevant fields of application. “Enhancing Physiological Performance with Protective Clothing Made from Lenzing FR Fibers” – Alexander Gstettner of Lenzing AG (Austria) will deliver a compelling presentation on the topic of heat stress in firefighting: “Globally, more firefighters die from heat stress than from burn injuries,” Gstettner states. His talk will provide insights into a scientific study investigating the relationship between garment materials and physiological performance in protective clothing.
Further highlights include:
Xlance (Italy) presents “Innovative Stretch Technology for Workwear and Protective Wear” – redefining comfort and flexibility in demanding environments.
Tencate (USA) introduces “Beyond Heat and Flame: Meeting Demands in the FR Textile End-Use Market” – a look into advanced functional textile solutions.
Additional expert presentations will be held by representatives from: Textil Santanderina (ESP), Getzner Textil (AUT), Saentis Textiles (TUR), Klopmann (GER), Kermel (FRA), PBI (GER).
Selection of Keynote Speakers:
Brieuc Lits (Edana, BEL): “Driving Sustainability in Nonwoven Applications: Challenges, Innovations, and Solutions”: EDANA supports and showcases solutions that go beyond compliance, highlighting how the nonwovens industry is addressing environmental challenges while meeting essential societal needs.
Franz Josef Radermacher (FAW/n, GER): “ALL IN vs. All Electric – How Climate Action and Prosperity Can Succeed Internationally at the Same Time”. Dornbirn GFC Innovation Days
For the fifth time, the Dornbirn GFC presents the Innovation Days, a dedicated platform for young innovators and emerging companies in the fibre and textile industry. This year brings an exciting new format: for the first time, all participating companies will present their innovations live on the main stage in front of the entire conference audience. A panel of industry experts will evaluate the presentations and select the most outstanding innovation to receive a special award.
