Lenzing unveils DualWipe tech

Conventional wipes often shed plastics. Lenzing's DualWipe offers a cellulose based alternative with two functional surfaces, supporting industries seeking fossil reduced, regulation aligned materials.

Cellulose based construction for practical use

The new LENZING DualWipe builds on the company's nonwovens technology to create a material with two distinct surfaces in one structure. One side is designed for abrasive cleaning, the other for soft wiping. As the material contains no synthetic fibres, binders or finishing chemicals, it avoids microplastic shedding associated with synthetic wipes. For users in industrial, professional and household cleaning, the ability to convert the material on standard lines simplifies integration into existing processes.

Relevance in Europe's shift to bio based systems

Lenzing presented DualWipe at a time when the role of bio based materials is being discussed at political and industrial level. A Brussels roundtable in early March, organised with Euractiv, examined how such materials can support Europe's transition towards lower carbon systems. The discussions highlighted increasing interest in cellulose based solutions as practical components of this shift.

Industry signals through INDEX26 nomination

DualWipe has been nominated for the INDEX26 Awards in the "Nonwovens Roll Goods" category. This recognition underscores how Lenzing aligns product development with broader policy objectives for material transformation. For nonwovens producers and converters, the nomination signals growing attention to alternatives that replace fossil based components while meeting performance expectations.

Linking policy engagement and industrial capability

Lenzing connects innovations like DualWipe with its involvement in European sustainability dialogues. According to members of the management team, the company aims to support Europe's ambitions through technologies that are both scalable and ready for industrial application. The development reflects a strategy that combines policy engagement, technological advancement and market relevance for the nonwovens sector.
