Lycra opens largest facility in China

The Lycra Company, a global leader in fibre and technology solutions, has officially opened its largest spandex production facility in Yinchuan, Ningxia Province, China. With an initial investment of over €97 million, the facility adds 30,000 tonnes of spandex production capacity annually, generating over €121.7 million in revenue and creating 500 jobs. The plant is expected to expand to 120,000 tonnes per year, addressing the growing demand for high-quality spandex in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

This state-of-the-art facility combines advanced automation and intelligent production systems, leveraging Lycra’s global R&D expertise and management capabilities. Developed in partnership with the Yinchuan Financial Capital Investment Group, the facility represents a strategic move to strengthen localised supply chains and enhance flexibility in meeting market demands.
