Oeko-Tex enjoys great popularity
More and more textiles and leather businesses are placing their trust in the expertise of Oeko-Tex and are shaping their processes more sustainably in the long-term.

This is corroborated by the rising number of Oeko-Tex certificates issued along the textile chain up to the end of June 2019.
The future is green
In the 2018/19 financial year ending 30 June 2019, more than 1,333 products were awarded the “Made in Green” label, corresponding to three times more than the year before. The top 5 countries here were Germany, China, Pakistan, Turkey, India and Switzerland. A sharp growth was generated, above all, in western Europe, but also in the Far and Middle East.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100
In the 2018/19 financial year, Oeko-Tex issued more than 21,000 Standard 100 Certificates in over 104 countries corresponding to an 8 percent climb on the year before. The top 5 countries with the most Standard 100 Certificates were China, Germany, Bangladesh, Turkey and India.
Sustainable Textile & Leather Production (Step)
The certification numbers for the “Sustainable Textile & Leather Production” test (STeP for short) have likewise been on the rise. More than 140 businesses were certified in the 2018/19 financial year, bringing the total of companies with valid STeP certification to around 322. China which tops the table of the most STeP-certified companies has been performing particularly well in this respect. Bangladesh and Pakistan were in joint second place. Turkey was in fourth and India in fifth place.
