SmartTex Hub premieres
Texhibition marks its 10th edition by strengthening its B2B and business set-up and launching the SmartTex Hub dedicated to technical textiles. Visitors will find the new area in the foyer, alongside the Innovation Hub and the Trend Areas.
More than 500 companies will exhibit at Texhibition Istanbul at the Istanbul Expo Center, across five halls covering a total of 42,850 square metres. The fair is segmented by product groups including knitted and woven fabrics, printed fabrics, artificial leather, denim, yarns, knitting, embroidery, lace and accessories. Dedicated trend and B2B areas, as well as a business lounge, are intended to support targeted meetings and an efficient environment for sourcing and business contacts. This season, four international textile companies from Italy and Japan will participate in Texhibition for the first time.
The new SmartTex Hub is introduced for the anniversary edition and presents what the organisers describe as the “innovative world of technical textiles”. Its scope ranges from functional textiles to advanced technology applications, with solutions positioned around sustainability, innovation and high performance.
Digital transformation and AI in focus
Digital transformation is another focal point of the September edition. Companies operating at the intersection of textiles, technology and artificial intelligence will show the growing importance of new technologies across the entire textile value chain. This focus complements the Innovation Hub and points to innovation emerging from the interplay of material expertise, technological possibilities, design know-how and new production processes.
Also located in the foyer, the Texhibition Innovation Hub centres on textiles at the interface of technology, design and next-generation materials. The programme references hemp, bio-microencapsulation and thermoregulation, supported by technical data sheets, fabric specifications and hub talks intended to translate complex developments into an accessible industry context.
As a reference point, the March 2026 edition recorded more than 20,000 trade visitors, including 5,565 international attendees. For September, Texhibition says it will further sharpen the profile of its international audience, with a focus on brands, buyers, designers and product developers. Trend forecasting is also part of the programme: the Trend Areas are announced under the theme “Traces of Time - Carrying the Past into the Future”, looking ahead to Autumn/Winter 2027/28.
