This new portfolio incorporates sustainable raw materials, including recycled PET (rPET) from post-consumer bottles, plastic-free fibres like viscose, lyocell, and cotton, as well as natural wood pulp. Produced at Sontara’s facility in northern Spain, the new wipes range achieves up to 42% lower CO2 emissions compared to standard wipes and reduces transport emissions by up to 70% compared to Far East imports. These products are tailored for critical cleaning applications across industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and cleanrooms. Despite their reduced environmental footprint, the wipes maintain the high strength, absorbency, and low lint levels that Sontara is known for. All products are free from added binders, chemicals, or silicones, ensuring safety and compliance with strict environmental standards.

Meeting regulatory standards with confidence

Sontara’s sustainable wipes range is fully compliant with the upcoming EU Deforestation Regulation, providing customers with peace of mind as environmental standards continue to tighten. Certifications such as FSC for fibres, OK Home Compost for biodegradable products, and GRS for recycled materials further reinforce the portfolio’s eco-credentials.
