The new issue of textile network focuses on technical textiles and textiles for hygiene and health. We present the latest developments and innovations that are revolutionizing the industry. In an interview with Thomas Lepetre, VP Events, Sales & Operations at JEC, we find out all about the latest trends and the future of composite materials. Dr. Timo Hammer from Hohenstein Laboratories provides an overview of the complex global regulations for medical textiles and their significance for companies. Uwe Hutzler, Managing Director of ISA Next-Gen Materials, provides interesting insights into the fungus-based innovation HyphaLite – a vegan alternative to synthetic materials – and shares his views on the future of the leather industry.

A special highlight is our exclusive survey with companies from the textile industry and their outlook for 2025. We wanted to know from the companies which developments make them confident for the year 2025. The answers we received were surprisingly positive and give us a valuable insight into the future of the textile industry. This year’s series on artificial intelligence in the textile and fashion industry starts with exciting projects from the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrums Smarte Kreisläufe, which offer significant potential for the textile sector.
