Munich Fabric Start sets new dates for Summer 2027: Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH will bring forward a refreshed sourcing timeline for the industry, with Munich Fabric Start and its integrated show-in-shows Bluezone, Keyhouse and The Source taking place from 20 – 22 July 2027. The revised dates position the Munich textile trade fair to open the Autumn.Winter 28/29 sourcing season approximately four weeks later than originally planned, providing an adjusted timeline for the industry’s sourcing and development cycle.
Digital offering expanded
With an eye toward Spring.Summer 2028, Munich Fabric Start is further expanding its digital offerings and integrating them even more closely with the physical trade fair. The strategic initiative kicked off with the exclusive industry webinar: "What Comes Next for European Fashion Supply" in October 2026, in partnership with Future Fashion Assembly. Marking the first step in Munich Fabric Start’s evolution towards a more internationally connected, yearround industry platform, the webinar launches a new series of expert-led discussions designed to extend the dialogue beyond the traditional trade fair format.
Curated and led by Sofia Strazzanti, Founder & CEO of Future Fashion Assembly, the series will bring together global perspectives, industry expertise and actionable insights to support the textile and fashion
community in navigating an evolving business landscape. The inaugural webinar was moderated by Muchaneta ten Napel, Founder & CEO of Shape Innovate and curator of the Stage program at Munich Fabric Start, with contributions from speakers including Philippa Grogan (Head of Sustainability, Nobody’s Child), Jamie Beck (Senior Vice President of Sustainability and Compliance, Fabacus), Dr. Dilek Erik (Global Marketing Manager, Sharabati), Elsa Parente (Co-Founder & CEO, Positive Materials), and Gunish Jain (Founder & CEO, Blue Kaktus).
In-person meetings
From year-round digital dialogue to in-person industry exchange: The webinar marked the beginning of an ongoing programme of knowledge sharing and international collaboration, extending the Munich Fabric Start experience beyond the traditional trade fair format. The conversations will continue in person at Munich Fabric Start from 20 – 22 January 2027, where the Stage programme will explore key industry developments through expert keynotes, panel discussions, trend presentations and interdisciplinary exchange. Together, these initiatives strengthen Munich Fabric Start’s ambition to connect the global textile and fashion community throughout the year, bridging digital engagement with meaningful in-person encounters in Munich.
