Yarn Expo Spring will welcome the global yarn and fibre industry back to the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 10–12 March 2027. The organiser describes the March 2026 show as its strongest edition to date, with over 600 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions and more than 25,000 visitors from 113 countries and regions.

“In a changing economic landscape, last year’s record participation showed how important it is for the yarn and fibre industry to meet in Shanghai, exchange ideas and understand what the market needs next,” said Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. She added that suppliers will have the opportunity to present developments to buyers from apparel, home textiles, knitting and related sectors, discuss requirements and build long-term business relationships.

The 2027 fair will again run alongside Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, CHIC and PH Value. The organiser positions this as a wider setting for connections across the textile value chain, at a time when material innovation is reshaping sourcing priorities.

What buyers are screening for

As sourcing requirements become more complex, the release highlights demand for materials that combine performance with credible environmental and supply-chain credentials. It points to growing interest in recycled and bio-based inputs, improved traceability and safer processing. It also references specialised solutions such as glass fibre yarns, where strength, thermal behaviour and processing performance are important.

A market reference cited in the release projects the yarn, fibre and thread market at USD 182.7 billion by 2032, and describes Asia-Pacific as central to spinning, filament and textile production as well as downstream demand. China’s integrated fibre, yarn, textile and equipment segments are also cited as factors strengthening Shanghai’s role as a location for industry exchange.

Zones and fringe programme

To help visitors navigate the offer, Yarn Expo Spring 2027 will feature an International Zone and eight dedicated zones: Cashmere Yarn, Cotton Yarn, Chemical Fibre, Fancy Yarn, Linen Yarn, Silk Yarn, Wool Yarn and a Digital Solution Zone.

The fringe programme is set to include China Yarns Fashion Trends, Tongkun, China Fibre Fashion Trend 2027/2028, New Fibre New World – Textile Materials Innovation Activities, and selected Enterprise Product Launch sessions. The organiser says these activities are intended to connect material trends, product applications and innovation perspectives, and to support exchange on how market expectations are translating into fibre and yarn development.

Yarn Expo Spring is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT.
