Zünd advances automated textile workflows
Zünd is showcasing digital cutting technologies for a wide range of textile applications at Texprocess in Frankfurt. The presentation centres on automated steps that connect optical capture, digital workflows and dedicated functions for specific processing needs.
From 21 to 24 April 2026, visitors in Hall 8, Booth D78 can see a Zünd G3 cutter equipped with table extension, an illuminated support rack and MindCUT software. The integrated LED lighting ensures uniform illumination of the detection area, enabling precise capture of intricate patterns and contours. Optional curtains protect this zone from ambient light to maintain consistently high capture quality.
Integrated workflow for different textile sectors
For upholstered furniture applications, software partner Mind Technology presents MindCAD 2D. The software supports efficient design and preparation of cut parts for furniture manufacturing and complements the workflow demonstrated on the G3 cutter.
Zünd is also working with Assyst to demonstrate a processing method for digitally printed textiles. At Assyst, cut files are digitally prepared using new AI features. The printed fabrics are then cut at the Zünd booth. A key element is Shape Vectorization in MindCUT Studio, which automatically captures printed shapes and converts them into precise contours for cutting. This enables an efficient workflow suited to on-demand production and variable collections.
AI-assisted preparation for precise positioning
Feature Recognition illustrates how AI-supported processes simplify cut preparation. The software detects motif positions on the fabric, assigns them to the relevant cut parts and repeats this positioning automatically along the entire roll. This replaces manual motif placement, accelerates preparation and helps ensure repeatability and consistent quality – including with delicate materials or fabrics featuring repeat patterns.
Automated conveyor-belt cleaning in live operation
For the first time at Texprocess, Zünd is presenting the integrated Conveyor Belt Cleaner in a live demonstration. The system cleans the belt automatically and without physical contact during each advance. To demonstrate cleaning performance, the setup cuts lint-shedding carpet as well as other materials. A continuously clean working surface supports consistent cut quality, smooth processing and reliable vacuum performance. This is particularly beneficial when working with frequently changing or highly sensitive textiles. The system operates exclusively with compressed air and requires no additional power supply.
