Crete 2025: industrial and hazardous waste management

The international conference on industrial and hazardous waste management is going to be held for the 8th time in Chania, on the island of Crete in Greece, from 27 to 31 May, 2025. The call for papers is now open, and submissions are being accepted until 31 January 2025. Crete 2025 will once again include an extended spectrum of topics, in order to allow a holistic approach to industrial and hazardous waste management and create an appealing and interesting Conference program. This time a focus on recovery potential and processes will be pursued.

As a co-organizer, Dornbirn GFC will contribute a strong focus on textile sector contamination, including key topics such as:

  • Industrial waste production and characterisation

  • Producer responsibility and legislation

  • Waste management and treatment options

  • Design and operation of treatment plants and disposal sites

  • Toxicological and safety aspects

  • Contaminated sites management

  • Hazardous waste management: medical, radioactive, asbestos, WEEE, etc.

  • Surface water, groundwater and ocean contamination / remediation

  • Social aspects of industrial waste management: public acceptance and involvement, information policy, etc.
