Revolutionary stretch military fabric honored

Carrington Textiles, a workwear fabric manufacturer, was honored with the Fabric & Fibre Innovation award at the Protective Clothing Industry Association Worldwide (PCIAW) Summit for their “Spartan HT Flex Lite”, a stretch military fabric designed for durability and comfort.

Elena Lai, the European Textile Services Association’s (ETSA) Secretary General, pointed out its tailored features, stating that it perfectly blends robustness and wearability. “A fabric that uniquely combines high-performance durability with exceptional comfort and flexibility. Developed specifically for military applications, ‘Spartan HT Flex Lite’ provides the optimal balance between robustness and wearability that defence personnel require”, said Elena.

Weighing 195gsm, the fabric integrates Lycra, cotton, and Cordura nylon, offering flexibility and strength. As the premier sponsor, Carrington showcased sustainable practices at their Portuguese factory during the event, emphasizing their commitment to eco-friendly manufacturing. Insightful discussions led by Carrington’s experts highlighted industry challenges, including EU Sustainability and microfibre pollution, showcasing the company’s dedication to mitigating environmental impact.

Additionally, they supported emerging talent in the field through a student design competition, emphasizing safety and innovation in workwear fabrics.
