Vietnam’s textile and garment sector is recalibrating its growth model. In the first half of 2026, the industry generated more than USD 22 billion in exports and maintained a full-year target of USD 48 billion. Yet more than 60% of production inputs are still imported. For companies sourcing in and from the region, the practical task is twofold: build more value-added supply chains and make them easier to evidence as ESG and compliance requirements tighten.

The Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) returns to the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City on 24-26 February 2027. Organisers describe the show as a comprehensive platform covering the full textile value chain, from raw materials and fabrics to garments and advanced manufacturing technologies. Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, says the industry is shifting “from volume-driven growth to value creation, technology adoption and supply chain transparency”, and frames VIATT 2027 as a venue to connect materials, production technologies and international markets “within one integrated environment”.

That integrated logic is reflected in the show’s three-part structure: Apparel Fabrics & Fashion, Home & Contract Textiles, and Technical Textiles & Technologies. The 2026 edition welcomed nearly 460 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions and recorded over 17,000 visits from 54 represented markets. Beyond the stands, more than 350 business matching meetings connected exhibitors with buyers from over 20 countries and regions.

Sustainability remains a stated centrepiece through the Econogy Hub and Econogy Check, which will showcase certified sustainable fibres, recycled materials, circular solutions and traceability systems. For brands and buyers, visibility across tiers is not an abstract ambition but a working requirement. Mr William Yip, Raw Materials Lead at Mountain Equipment Company, Canada, noted at the previous edition that, from a traceability perspective, it is “invaluable” to have insight into yarn suppliers, the yarns used in fabrics, and ultimately garment suppliers.

VIATT is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE).
