25.09.23 – London Fashion Week SS24
Isko supports emerging British fashion designers
Isko, part of Sanko Tekstil, known for pioneering denim innovations, took an important step in supporting emerging British fashion designers during London Fashion Week SS24. They collaborated with designers Priya Ahluwalia, Chet Lo, Aaron Esh and Masha Popova, providing their latest denim fabrics and expertise from Creative Room London, its London-based product development centre.
Priya Ahluwalia`s “Acknowledgements” collection used Isko`s Ctrl+Z fabric, which is made from recycled and reclaimed materials and emphasizes sustainable design. This development contains no virgin cotton and uses a minimum of 60% recycled materials and the remainder is regenerated cellulose fibres while still giving a look and feel identical to traditional denim.
Chet Lo used Isko`s Ctrl+Z fabric and laser techniques to explore identity and healing through erotic laser prints on denim. He took an active stand in reclaiming the power lost during his youth, healing the childhood wounds inflicted by a society that sidelined differences instead of celebrating them.
Aaron Esh, making his London Fashion Week debut, combined recycled Isko denim and leather for a youthful, rebellious collection. Aaron created bootleg denim ripped jeans made entirely from Isko Denim using R-TWO50 fabric, which comprises a minimum of 50% pre and post-consumer recycled content. The designer noted the addition of denim accompanied by leathers add a new level of depth to their latest collection.
Masha Popova`s collection “Monster” featured denim manipulation techniques with Isko`s support and emphasized seasonless fashion. She used various finishings including over-dyeing, flocking, patchwork, scratching and fraying in a variety of colours from vibrant green to silver across jeans, tops and jackets, all developed with the help of Isko`s Creative Room, London.
Isko`s Senior PR Manager, Keith O`Brien, emphasized the commitment to sustainability and supporting designers at all levels. “For us this Spring/Summer 2024 season it`s important to continue to build on our passion for supporting the next wave of young creative talent not only in the UK but globally on their journey to becoming more sustainably minded and we`re proud to support Priya Ahluwalia, Chet Lo, Aaron Esh. Marsha Popova and Dilara Findikoglu this London Fashion Week.”
