03.10.25 – Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2025
Intertextile 2025 showcases supply chain
The autumn edition revealed strategic shifts in global textile sourcing as exhibitors showcased AI-driven solutions, bio-based materials, and new market opportunities across ASEAN, EU, and African regions.
Market diversification drives strategic partnerships
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2025 concluded with clear evidence of the global textile industry's strategic pivot toward supply chain diversification. Over 3,700 exhibitors from 26 countries welcomed more than 100,000 visitors from 123 countries, demonstrating the fair's critical role as a platform for international business development during uncertain market conditions. China's textile sector is actively diversifying its export portfolio, with trade to ASEAN markets increasing 13%, EU trade growing 6.9%, and African partnerships surging 21.4% in the first half of 2025. This strategic shift compensates for reduced US exports and creates new opportunities for international collaboration across the textile value chain.
Innovation zones drive technology adoption
The expanded Econogy Hub, growing over 60% compared to the previous autumn edition, highlighted the industry's commitment to sustainable transformation. New exhibitors including Peelsphere showcased bio-leather made from fruit waste and algae, while Chloris Biochem presented sustainable dye solutions targeting environmentally conscious manufacturers. The Innovation & Digital Solutions Zone featured breakthrough technologies from companies like AiDLab, which demonstrated AI-driven textile inspection systems integrated with computerised market planning. These solutions address critical supply chain efficiency challenges by making defect data transparent and enhancing production planning capabilities.
Strategic business matching facilitates global connections
The fair's structured approach to international business development proved highly effective, with 150 representatives from eight international buyer delegations participating in 130 business matching meetings. Additionally, 50 VIP buyers from 14 countries engaged in 350 targeted business meetings, facilitating concrete partnerships between suppliers and global brands. Industry feedback emphasised the fair's unique value proposition in connecting technology providers with manufacturers seeking automation solutions. The synergy created within specialised zones generated increased collaboration opportunities, particularly for companies developing Industry 4.0 applications for textile manufacturing. As global textile companies navigate geopolitical tensions and seek supply chain resilience, Intertextile Shanghai continues to serve as the essential platform for discovering new technologies, establishing strategic partnerships, and accessing emerging markets across Asia, Europe, and Africa.
